We are new additions to the Tripawd family. Tyson is a 9.5 year old black lab who has been battling a nasty, aggressive mast cell tumour in his rear right leg. We have had the tumour surgically removed once, but it came back two months later and is growing very rapidly.
Our only options appeared to be amputate the leg or watch and wait for Tyson to decline. Since Ty is still SO active and SO happy and SO hungry, it seemed horrible for us to just let him go downhill without trying to help. So, we made the decision to amputate and he went in yesterday.
Tyson has a younger brother, an 8.5 year old Dudley lab named Gus who is lost without Ty around.
Now we shall see what the future brings…
